Leckhampton is a village on the southern outskirts of Cheltenham.

Cheltenham town centre is about 2 miles to the north and Gloucester about 6 miles to the west. The A46 trunk road to Stroud and Bath passes through the shopping area between Leckhampton and Cheltenham. Thereafter it skirts Leckhampton and goes on to the village of Shurdington.

It is the whole area between Leckhampton and Shurdington that LEGLAG seeks to preserve. The area lies in the Severn valley with views to and from the Cotswold escarpment, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

LEGLAG members are especially concerned with three areas edged in red in the map on the right:

  • "Brizen Farm" fields to the south west.
  • Leckhampton "Glebe Land" to the north east
  • land to the west of Farm Lane known to the planners as "SD2".

The 26 mile Cheltenham Circular Footpath crosses this area.
